Medical treatment procedures

Radiology is a discipline where biological information are captured into images using physicochemical methodology. Using the latest CT and MRI scanners, images of specific parts of the whole body are obtained, examined, and diagnosed. In addition, radiation medicine incorporates interventional radiology (IVR), a treatment of various diseases through minimally invasive procedures. The IVR Center at Osaka University Hospital was established in 2014 and has been operating in collaboration with other departments in the hospital in carrying out IVR medical care procedures.

Radiation therapy is another treatment carried out by irradiating the radiation directly to tumors. For more information, please visit the homepage of Radiation Therapy Laboratory.
